The votes are in and Holloway High School in Murfreesboro will receive $2,000 in graduation funds from Remington College-Nashville Campus.
Holloway High received the most votes in Remington College's Adopt Our School program, an effort by Remington College to assist local public schools with up to $2,000 worth of school supplies. Nominations and voting were done online by the public.
The staff at Holloway High will use the money to solve a graduation dilemma that they have been facing. The school booked Middle Tennessee State's Murphy Center with the hopes that it would be able to raise the funds to cover the expense. The Adopt Our School award means that Holloway can pay the $1,200 venue fee, as well as $350 for graduation programs, $200 worth of flowers for a rose ceremony and $250 for a senior breakfast.
A check presentation will be held at Holloway High School on Friday, May 21 at 8:00 a.m. at the school. The school is located at 619 South Highland Ave. in Murfreesboro. Media are invited to cover the event.
The Holloway High School graduation will be held on Friday, May 21 at 7:00 p.m. at the MTSU Murphy Center Complex.
“We congratulate Holloway High and are thrilled to know that we are helping make graduation a special event for students and their families,” said Larry Collins, Remington College-Nashville Campus President.
Remington College-Nashville Campus will hold another Adopt Our School competition in the fall, with another $2,000 worth of school supplies for the winning school.
The Adopt Our School program is part of “Remington College Reaches Out,” a series of community initiatives and charitable efforts to mark the college’s 25th anniversary in 2010.
