Undefeated Blackman puts faces its toughest test of the season Friday night as the Blaze play host to powerful Oakland in a District 7AAA matchup involving two of the top 10 teams in the state.
Blackman remains the county's only undefeated team at 7-0 and leads the district playoff race tied with Riverdale, both with 3-0 league records. Oakland, a narrow loser to Riverdale, is 2-1, and 5-2 overall with both losses narrow overtime defeats.
The Blackman-Oakland game will be broadcast on WGNS (1450 AM, 100.5 FM).
Riverdale, 6-1, overall and also ranked in the top 10 in various high school polls, visits Siegel which faces a must-win game in order to maintain any chance for a TSSAA playoff berth.
The third game involving Class 6A teams sees the traditional showdown between Smyrna and La Vergne.
In Class A action Middle Tennessee Christian School faces District 9A leader Cascade in the Cougars' Throneberry Stadium. Cascade is 3-0 in the district playoff race with MTCS second at 3-1.
Eagleville plays host to Signal Mountain.
