Oakland knocked off previously undefeated Brentwood convincingly, 27-7 Friday night and prepares for the Battle of the Boro against archrival Riverdale next week.
The defending state champion Patriots improved to 3-1 by beating Brentwood. Oakland never trailed, holding the visitors scoreless until late in the fourth quarter.
Third-ranked Oakland will play host to Riverdale, also 3-1, a 52-7 winner at home over Lincoln County next Friday.
Blackman, Siegel and Smyrna also posted impressive shutout victories. The Blaze, the county’s only undefeated team, pounded Cane Ridge, 48-0; the Stars routed Wilson County, 45-0; and the Bulldogs whipped Centennial, 48-0.
La Vergne dropped Hendersonville, 26-15.
In Class A action Eagleville fell to White House Heritage, 43-7, and Middle Tennessee Christian School lost a 12-10 heartbreaker to Ezell-Harding.
