Help children become their dreams

Mills Family Pharmacy and the Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce will be collecting costumes for elementary school-aged boys and girls whose parents cannot afford a costume for them, not to mention if they have multiple siblings.

Children may not participate in door-to-door trick or treating however, some schools and churches allow children to dress in costume for Fall/Halloween parties.

“I feel as if a child would like to be a superhero for Halloween, then we should be able to lend a cape,” Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce’s Emily Day said. “If they wish to be decked out like a Princess, then a wand and dress she will receive.”

Donations will be received through 5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 13 at Mills Family Pharmacy, 2829 South Church St.

Donated costumes will be distributed the first week of October of next year.

“My hope is that these will be distributed to families with multiple children and/or a financial need,” Day said.

This is a great opportunity to teach your kids about helping others by giving their costume away or buying one for a child their age.

If you do not have children or any used costumes, many stores have discounted Halloween costumes on sale currently, she said.
