Heartbreak for Eagleville in regional tourney

The Eagleville Eagles (16-13) went down to a 42-40 defeat Saturday night to Nashville Christian as Jacob Burns hit the game winner with no time left on the clock.

The tournament Champion Eagles were never able to get much rhythm in a show down game on the Eagles home floor in the first round of region play.

The game was close throughout and, after Nashville Christian led 16-13 at the half, we had numerous ties and five lead changes in the second half, but Eagleville was never able to get control of the game or more than a two-point lead.

Tuesday night in boys play at La Vergne High the Riverdale Warriors (20-10) will take on the Siegel Stars (30-2) at 6 p.m. and the LaVergne Wolverines (20-7) will play the Lawrence County Wildcats (22-9) at 7:30.
