The 9th annual Barfield Halloween Bash kicks off Halloween festivities with haunted holiday festivities, scary and not-so-scary hayrides and carnival.

Murfreesboro Parks and Recreation Department holds the 9th Annual Barfield Halloween Bash on Oct. 21-24 at Barfield Crescent Park.

The haunted holiday begins with the “Old Scream Road,” which runs from Wednesday, Oct. 21 to Saturday, Oct. 24. Murfreesboro’s scariest hayride begins at dark and is guaranteed to keep you screaming. Recommended for ages 9 and over. The cost is $5 per person.

The “Not So Haunted Trail” offers families and little ones a scenic hayride through the backcountry campground where the creatures of the forest come out for a friendly greeting.

This year’s hayride theme will be based on the book: “The Little Old Lady Who Was Not Scared of Anything.” Costing $3 person, the hayride will be held from 5-7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 23 and Saturday, Oct. 24.

The “Spooky Nights Carnival,” held from 5-8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 23 and Saturday, Oct. 24 will be packed with carnival games, face painting, music, dancing, costume and pumpkin carving contests. The carnival is free, concessions and game tickets ($.50 each) will be sold.
