An argument Friday, April 29 at 604 Merrick Court led to two arrests for possession of marijuana and reckless endangerment.
Murfreesboro Police Officer Christopher Williams was called to Merrick Court at 2:44 a.m. Friday morning because of a report that two men had been fighting.
When Williams arrived, he found the two men involved, Jeremy Toombs, 34, of Madison Street, and Ethan Wilson.
Toombs advised police he had been fighting with Wilson.
Wilson came up to Toombs and started insulting him, so Toombs hit him.
Wilson had a small laceration above his left eye and blood on his forehead.
When Williams spoke with Toombs' and Wilson's roomate, Lewis Swann, he said he heard a loud noise that woke him up.
Upon further investigation, Williams discovered that there was a shot fired in the house.
When he searched it, there was a hole in the ceiling in the bedroom. There was also fresh drywall that had fallen on the floor beneath the hole.
In addition to the hole, he found five partially smoked marijuana cigarettes on the kitchen counter.
There was also a small plastic container with marijuana found in a drawer in the bedroom.
April Bain, Wilson's girlfriend was in the house while police were searching it.
She had two warrants out for her arrest.
Police took both Bian and Wilson to the Murfreesboro Police Department for possession of marijuana and reckless endangerment.
An intense robbery took place Saturday evening at 412 Sherrill Blvd. and four people were held at gunpoint.
Jesse Foe and two friends, Stephen Johnson and Marissa Kinser, went to pick up Foe’s girlfriend, Jessica Coranzza.
While waiting on his girlfriend, Foe saw a man come around the corner of the house. That man held a gun to Foe’s head and immediately asked that he empty out his pockets.
Foe identified the suspect as George Simpson. Once Simpson had robbed Foe of his money, he then proceeded to call both Johnson and Kinser into the house.
He held all of the victims hostage until Johnson threatened the robber with a knife that was held in his pocket. A shot was fired at Johnson as he reached for the weapon, but missed.
After the shot all of the victims promptly fled the scene. Simpson is being charged with strong-armed robbery, aggravated assault, reckless endangerment, and theft under $500.
