| Guardsmen headed to Iraq |

The Tennessee National Guard’s 1128th Financial Management Detachment is scheduled to depart Tuesday, Jan. 5, on the first leg of a deployment in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
The 1128th is composed of 26 soldiers from various cities in Middle Tennessee. They are set to leave at 6 a.m. next Tuesday from Building 510 at the National Guard Volunteer Training Site in Smyrna.
They then travel by aircraft from Nashville International Airport to Fort Dix, New Jersey. There they will undergo several weeks of specialized mobilization training before continuing on to an undisclosed post in Iraq.
This brings the total number of Tennessee National Guardsmen deployed since Sept. 11, 2001, to nearly 20,000.
