Grief doesn’t take a holiday, and coping with a loss during the holiday season is easier said than done.
Alive Hospice will offer a free seminar on Nov. 30 in Murfreesboro that can help. This seminar, which will run from 6:30 to 8 p.m., is free and open to the public.
Due to limited space, early reservations are encouraged by calling 615-907-1677. More information, including seminar locations, will be given when participants call to register.
“One of the things most people experience when they’re grieving is the feeling of isolation. Walking into a room full of other people who are also grieving helps to take that feeling away,” said Alive Hospice Grief Counselor Pam Quaintance, who will facilitate the seminar.The program will include:
• an educational overview of the grief process and what to expect during the holiday season;
• strategies and tips to help minimize stress and make the holidays more manageable;
• an optional time of remembrance.
The information covered at these seminars can be used during other times of great significance during the year, such as a loved one’s birthday and on wedding anniversaries.
Alive Grief Support Services, the bereavement support program of Alive Hospice, also offers individual bereavement counseling and grief support groups for adults and children throughout the year. Anyone can take advantage of these services, regardless of whether a loved one was served by Alive Hospice.
