Kim and Lee Greenwood have been announced as Celebrity Waiters for the First Annual Exchange Club Celebrity Waiters Dinner, said Donna Gibson, president of the Exchange Club of Murfreesboro.
Kim Greenwood is Executive Director of the Miss Tennessee USA and Miss Tennessee Teen USA Pageants. She is a 1989 recipient of the Miss Tennessee USA award. Her husband, Lee Greenwood, is a noted country music artist; especially renowned for his classic single, “God Bless the USA.”
Other names added to the server list include: reigning Miss Tennessee USA, Tucker Perry of Franklin, Eagleville Mayor Sam Tune, Smyrna Mayor Tony Dover and Snow Bird of WSMV Channel 4 fame.
Servers previously announced are: from MTSU, President Sidney McPhee, Athletic Director Chris Massaro, women’s basketball Coach Rick Insell, men’s basketball Coach Kermit Davis, former NFL quarterback Kelly Holcomb, Murfreesboro Police Chief Glenn Chrisman, Sheriff Truman Jones and Mayors Tommy Bragg (Murfreesboro) and Ernest Burgess (Rutherford County).
The event will be Thursday, April 8 at the DoubleTree Hotel with a poolside reception beginning at 6 p.m. followed by the dinner at 7 p.m. A circus theme, Under the Big Top, will be featured for the evening with clowns, magicians, and live animals provided by Exchangite Bill Boner, County Property Assessor. Invitations for the event will be in the mail by March 1.
Proceeds from the dinner will go to support the Exchange Club Family Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect. The Center, located on Heritage Park Drive, served 1,673 clients in Rutherford County in 2008/09. Of this number 930 were successful graduates of parent education classes.
The Exchange Club Family Center is one of over 100 Centers in the country, operating under the auspices of The National Exchange Club. The Murfreesboro Center is a satellite of the Family Center in Nashville. Other centers in Tennessee are located in Memphis, Jackson, and Livingston.
