Generation For Creation, a nonprofit visual and performing arts program based in Murfreesboro, will offer a star-led talent workshop/performance for area youth in November.
Grammy-winning vocalist Linda Davis will teach the stage 101 workshop/concert for aspiring entertainers, announced Monica S. Johnson, executive director of GFC. Registration for the event is limited to the first 20 enrollees, ages 7-17, and the cost is $75 per enrollee.
“Linda Davis is a true celebrity, who is a Grammy Award recording artist who’s famously known for her duet with Reba McEntire,” Johnson said. “Miss Davis is honored to teach children professional stage techniques that they can use to improve and enhance their skills for a lifetime.”
In addition to the 4-8 p.m. Nov. 6 workshop scheduled at Middle Tennessee Christian School in Murfreesboro, Johnson said there also will be a Nov. 8 concert by Davis and some of the children who attend the workshop training.
“Like any true artist, we always want an opportunity to showcase our talents in the best light, especially if we are learning from seasoned and professional artists,” Johnson said. “(And) Linda Davis is offering an incredible opportunity for aspiring entertainers to perfect their skills and put the new skills to work.”
Tickets for the Nov. 8 benefit children’s show featuring Davis are $20 per person and available by calling GFC directly at 615-890-7116.
