In order to hear from his constituents in the 6th District, Rep. Bart Gordon is holding town halls and office hours about health care, the economy, and other important issues facing the country.

His “listening schedule” started Friday with two Telephone Town Halls – one at 11 a.m. and another at 5:30 p.m.

Telephone Town Halls allow voters to participate and communicate with Gordon from home.
Gordon will then hold face-to-face office hours starting at 9:00 a.m. Monday at the Patterson Park Community Center, 521 Mercury Blvd. in Murfreesboro

During these office hour events, constituents will be able to meet with Gordon individually and discuss any questions and concerns. Participants will be seen on a first-come-first-serve basis.

Gordon will hold an in-person Town Hall meeting from 7:00-8:30 p.m. Monday in Murfreesboro at MTSU's Tucker Theater . At the moderated event, attendees may ask questions and share concerns. The moderated format will ensure that a constructive dialogue takes place over the course of the meeting.

Seating in Tucker Theatre is limited to 900 seats. Attendees must have a ticket to be admitted to the Town Hall Meeting in Murfreesboro.

Tickets will be handed out on a first-come, first-served basis at the theater, starting at 6:00 p.m.

Meeting-goers are asked not to bring signs into the theatre that would obstruct aisles or block the view of others.

Gordon will also hold office hours in Putnam and Sumner counties. He will hold another Town Hall in Gallatin at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 26 at Vol State's Wemyss Auditorium.

I wonder how many of those seats at Tucker (et al) are going to be filled by out of district SEIU goons?

By: greaterhands on 8/20/09
I hope nobody asks Gordon about anything except the Greenway and spending money on it because it is the only thing he knows anything about since he is Pelosis and Obamas puppett.

I am honored that this is an opprotunity to voice concerns on political matters.

You wonder a lot, SocEtTuem.

SEIU is:
The largest healthcare union, with more than 1.1 million members in the field, including nurses, LPNs, doctors, lab technicians, nursing home workers, and home care workers

The largest property services union, with 225,000 members in the building cleaning and security industries, including janitors, security officers, superintendents, maintenance workers, window cleaners, and doormen and women

The second largest public services union, with more than 1 million local and state government workers, public school employees, bus drivers, and child care providers

With numbers like these what makes you think amongst all these workers, there's none in our district? What makes you believe they would need to recruit "goons."

Union jobs offer excellent health, welfare, and annuity funds as well job security. The dues were well worth it and far less combined than what I pay now towards health insurance alone. Many times over, I've regretted leaving my union job to pursue other interests.

Geana,

You are here spreading more lies...?

Did anyone dial in to the telephone conference today and listen to the babble from this very un-virtuous politician?

I did, I tried to que in and ask a question...

Of course I was not acknowledged.

I wanted to ask from where does Mr. Gordon and his associates in Congress, Democrat and Republican alike get the idea that they can totally ignore the US Constitution and trample on our rights as Citizens?

Where oh where Geana does it state in the Constitution that the Federal Government shall be the provider of your well-being?

This guy must be defeated in 2010!

My darling little boy, David, such a temper tantrum ... did you "register," for the Telephone Town Hall?

http://gordon.house.gov/townhall/

"On August 21, shortly before the start of the town hall you for which you signed up, you will receive an invitation phone call, which will provide you with simple instructions about how to listen, ask questions, and leave messages."

http://www.seiu.org/our-union/

Unlike, I prefer to fact-check first. What am "I" lieing" about, again??

Ohhhhh, I see.... They "dared" to talk about Sarah Palin, whom they know not personally?

Hush little baby, don't say a word. Daddy's going to buy you a mockingbird.

I'm curious....who gets to determine what is constructive dialogue?

By: Geana on 8/21/09
Murfree, these were named moderators from the previous article:

The in-person Town Hall meetings will be moderated by Murfreesboro's
Daily News Journal and Gallatin's News-Examiner, respectively. The
moderators will call on attendees to ask questions or give advice to
Gordon, as well as ensure that a constructive dialogue takes place over
the course of each event.

Duvics,
What world are you living in? You liberals keep your head in the sand.

By: Alaskadave on 8/22/09
Geana,

We all know who you are from previous posts. I did register and I was on the phone during the telephone town hall meetings. I also hit *3 and tried to ask the question but unfortunately the moderator was more interested in having people who support Mr. Gordon speak. Were you on the call?

P.S

I don't want a damn Mockingbird from anyone including President Obama!

By: Geana on 8/22/09
Exactly who am I from previous posts?

Am I:
Gourmetman?
Mr.Gourmet?
Matthew Brown?

Whatever, David.

I am glad people are able to go to these meetings and also have their concerns addressed over the telephone. I, however, am hearing nothing that would lead me to believe that Congressman Gordon is listening to the people. He has his own agenda and still seems to believe in his way and not what the majority of his constituents believe.

My parents use to say, "No politician is to be trusted and if they are elected they never follow through with what they have promised to do". Seems this is what is happening with Congressman Gordon and Obama.

We need a government option!

By: barrettbear on 8/24/09
Just like all politicians. Have their own agenda and will continue whatever they please. Not one, all.

"Why do they call it Common Sense when it is sooooooo uncommon?" A quote from former Senator of Tennessee Fred D Thompson. He is soooooo right.
