The Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival is set to take place in Manchester, Tenn. next weekend as it will celebrate its 10th anniversary.
What has seemed like a short time, the festival has now become a mainstay for the midstate as it attracts thousands of music fans each year and claims the tag of the nation’s largest festival.
This year’s lineup plays on several major chords as it hosts a bevy of ‘Roo favorites which include Widespread Panic, Primus, Warren Haynes, Galactic, The Black Keys, and My Morning Jacket.
After the first few years, Bonnaroo transcended the identity of a jam band festival and has become known for its diversity in acts. This year, the song remains the same as the lineup includes newcomers such as Eminem and Arcade Fire along with a heavy-hitting undercard of talent.
Holding on to classic roots, this year’s lineup also includes a reunited Buffalo Springfield group, as it will be their only festival appearance. Other top-hitters include Robert Plant and Band of Joy, Mumford and Sons, Alison Krauss and Union Station, Mavis Staples, Greg Allman and two shows from ‘Nawlin’s legend Dr. John.
The festival kicks off on Thursday afternoon, and tickets are sold out.
