Enjoy a great day of golf while helping support Rutherford County nonprofits by playing in the 5th annual John Hassmiller Memorial Golf Tournament at Indian Hills Golf Club on Sept. 16.

Hosted by Bridgestone, the tournament benefits the Discovery Center and the Murfreesboro, La Vergne & Smyrna Food Banks.

"This tournament is a gift from the heart for the Hassmiller family, funds generated will be used by Discovery Center for Project Reach Out that helps underserved children in our community,” said Billie Little, CEO & Founding Director of the Discovery Center.

The format is a four-man scramble; individual players are welcome.

Tee-off is at 1 p.m. Cost is $100 per player or $400 for a team and includes golf, lunch, prizes and a silent auction.

The Alpha Delta Kappa Sorority from Siegel, Riverdale, Oakland and Blackman High Schools are donating baskets for the silent auction as well as its time to help these worthy organizations.

Golfers can also receive one ticket entry for a special drawing for every three cans of food brought to the tournament.

Tournament sponsors are welcome, as are golf teams or individual players.

Contact Wesley Shannon of Bridgestone at 615-287-7304 or ShannonWesle@bfusa.com for more information on sponsorship opportunities or playing.

Entry forms can be downloaded at www.discoverycenteronline.org/golf.html.
