LA VERGNE - A golf tournament sponsored by the Fraternal Order of Police and Willstan’s Grille of La Vergne is scheduled for Friday, Sept. 21, at Cedar Crest Golf Club in Rutherford County.

All proceeds from the tournament will go to children in need during the holidays.

“Through the focused efforts every year of the FOP, Box 100, and other civic-minded organizations, hundreds of kids and their families are able to celebrate the holidays with food, clothing, and toys,” Alderman Tom Broeker said. “It really does take a village to care for those less fortunate in our communities, so I am very thankful that businesses, city workers, and other organizations can come together to help our littlest residents.”

The golf tournament begins with lunch at 11:30 a.m. and tee-off is slated for 1 p.m.

The cost is $60 per person, or $240 for a team of four. Awards will be given for the longest drive, closest to the pin, and first, second, and third place team trophies.

Cedar Crest Golf Club is located at 7972 Mona Road between Smyrna and Murfreesboro.

To register individually or as a team, call 615-207-5012.
