Homecoming is the one day that drives masses of Blue Raider fans to Middle Tennessee State University’s campus. The week leading up to homecoming is jam-packed with student government organized activities for students to take part in; including a free showing of Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides at the Student Union theater. Beginning in the morning with a parade, the festivities last all day and some even carry on through the night. Last year, I witnessed the craziness that happens on this day for the first time and I loved it. I applaud the Student Government Association (SGA) for working extremely hard on this year’s celebration.
For the first time, MTSU will celebrate homecoming in the Conference USA sports division. Joining Conference USA has been a year in the making and surely President Sidney A. McPhee is excited for his true blue football team. Unfortunately, I will not be able to attend the homecoming game; however, I most certainly will be cheering on my Blue Raiders in spirit. I can only imagine the numerous students and alumni in attendance showing off their school pride. Hopefully, the Blue Raiders can bring this homecoming to a memorable close by winning!
Homecoming is that time of the school year that everybody looks forward to. It's just good to see everybody come together and show some school spirit. I think my favorite things to do during homecoming is going to the parade and the step show. I have been to the step show every year since I've been here and I don't ever plan on missing one.
This year is really big because our school has joined a the Conference USA. I think since I've been here I only went to one homecoming game but even if I don't go I always try and keep up with everything. I hope everybody get a chance to attend some of the events this homecoming if not all of the events. I would encourage everybody to go to the step show. Its just an all out good event and I seem to always have a good time when I go.
