Girlfriend suffers multiple injuries in assault

Charges are pending against a boyfriend accused of head-butting his girlfriend and forcing her to topple down stairs at his home Wednesday, Murfreesboro Police reported.

Victim Abbie Steele, 24, of Indian Park Drive was treated for multiple injures at Middle Tennessee Medical center, Officer Jacob Lamb reported.

Steele told Lamb she went to her boyfriend’s home and argued because he was unfaithful. She became angry and slapped him and he head-butted her, causing her to sustain bruising to her right cheek and lip.

“He then forced her down the stairs as she tried to leave, causing her to lose balance and she rolled down the stairs,” Lamb reported.

Her boyfriend also fell down the stairs because she grabbed him as he was falling to keep her from going down the stairs. As she fell, she dropped her car keys. When she reached for her keys, she accused her boyfriend of slamming her down onto her back outside in the yard.

He tossed the keys into her car and when she tried to get in, she said he slammed the door on her leg, the officer reported.

She was treated for her injuries, Lamb reported.

Lamb obtained a warrant charging the boyfriend with domestic assault. He has not yet been charged.
