Donations collected during the 7AAA district softball tournament were recently donated to the Live 4 Tay Foundation, as part of the annual One Book of Rutherford reading initiative.

The Live 4 Tay Foundation partnered with One Book of Rutherford this spring for the community read of “The Fault In Our Stars,” written by John Green, to promote literacy and help raise awareness for childhood cancer.

At One Book’s finale event, “An Evening Under The Stars," held May 10 at Linebaugh Library and during the tournament in Murfreesboro, donations were collected for the Taylor Filorimo Scholarship Fund, a softball scholarship fund hosted at Riverdale High School in memory of the late teenager.

A total of $250 was collected and presented to Riverdale Softball Coach Christy Bingham and Taylor’s teammates.
