Mayor Tommy Bragg presided Thursday over a routine meeting of the Murfreesboro City Council.

Agenda items gaining passage, all by unanimous approval included:

• Several amendments to the 2010-2011 budget including revised costs for increased fuel sales at the Murfreesboro Airport and additional expenditures for the purchase of police vehicles with monies from the Drug Fund.

• Condemnation of an electric utility easement located on North Spring Street by the Wright family in order to upgrade electric service for surrounding property owners. The recommendation included an incredibly lifelike artist's rendering of the completed upgrades by Assistant City Attorney David Ives, riveting council members.

• A resolution to allow the city to purchase supplies or any services other than construction, engineering, architectural services or construction materials outside Tennessee through the National Intergovernmental Purchasing Alliance and the U.S. Communities Government Purchasing Alliance.
