Main Street Murfreesboro is set to kick off the summer with their Friday Night Live concert series on Friday, June 3 as they play host to the Stones River Pilots.

Though you might not want to catch an airplane ride with this group, as they have no experience in the sky, it will be a safe bet to open your ears to the rock n’ roll airways with tunes that span the 1950’s – 1980’s.

“We like to play the songs people know and love,” Pilots drummer Norris Hall said.

“All are played with a generous sprinkling of special Pilot's Seasoning. Stones River Pilots are all about having fun and not taking ourselves too seriously. We hope everyone will like listening to us half as much as we like playing!"

Making up the group are a batch of locals that range from artists and craftsmen to the police force which include Rodney Wright, Steve Frey, Bruce Duncan, Melvin Cunningham, Alan Daigre and Hall.

With events like JazzFest and Uncle Dave Macon Days, live music is an important element to the city and Hall understands this.

“Live music adds so much to the community. It creates a very nice energy,” Hall said.

“We are very excited about this show. We are honored to be invited to play.”

The concert will begin at 6:30 p.m. on The Square and is free to the public.
