Veteran local office Jon Frazier announced his candidacy for the Rutherford County Commissioner of District 4.

He is running as an independent and has stated that “party politics should not play a part in local offices where a commissioner should represent all the people who within the community.”

As an independent, Frazier believes he can hear the concerns of everyone, no matter what party they belong and have bipartisan resolution.

“Tennessee is one of the best managed, lowest-taxed and conservative states in the county and I believe that we need to continue keeping the cost of government as low as possible, but still serve the needs of the people,” Frazier said. “In addition, we should strive to limit taxation and unfair restrictions on small business.”

Frazier is a graduate of Northwestern University Center for Public Safety. He graduated from the Tennessee Law Enforcement Training Academy in 1990. He is also a four-term president of the Police Benevolent Association’s Stones River Chapter of Middle Tennessee, a member of the Tennessee Sherriff’s Assocation, Tennessee Law Enforcement Training Officers Association and the Fraternal Order of Police.

Frazier is recognized as a National Certified Master Instructor, Department of Safey & Homeland Secrurity Terrorism Liaison Office, Mid-Level Managament and Foundational Leadership Development Certified and National Fire Academy Training Certified.

Frazier believes his faith, family, community and profession motivate him to make valid, responsible decisions for the county. He sees his values at Tennessee values. He takes great pride in serving Rutherford County within his profession and holds himself accountable with the same values that this country and the state of Tennessee were founded on.

Frazier’s decision to run for county commissioner is based on the belief that more can be done in local government and the needs we have in Rutherford County. He lives in the Lascassas community with his family.
