Frankie L. Hopkins Sr., age 73, of Smyrna, died Sunday, Dec. 2, 2012. A native of Fulton, Ky., and longtime resident of Warren, Mich., he was the son of the late Carl Hopkins and Lennie Clark Hopkins. He is also preceded in death by his son, Michael Keith Hopkins.
Mr. Hopkins is survived by his wife of 51 years, Betty Sue Lawson Hopkins; son, Frankie L. Hopkins Jr.; daughter, Tamatha Phillips and her husband Chris of Murfreesboro; a grandchild, Reese Phillips of Murfreesboro; two brothers, John Hopkins and his wife Mary Kay and Larry Hopkins and his wife Mary Lou all of Michigan; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Woodfin Funeral Chapel in Smyrna. Brother Ron Caldwell will officiate.
Mr. Hopkins attended Life Point Church in Smyrna and was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a retired postal carrier with the United States Post Office. Mr. Hopkins enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and wildlife.
