Foul play was not believed involved in the death of a man whose body was found Wednesday morning in a dumpster at Nottingham Apartments on Greenland Drive, the Murfreesboro Fire Department spokesman said.

An autopsy has been conducted by the medical examiner’s office and at this point, it appears there was no indication of foul play, said Assistant Chief Allen Swader. Murfreesboro firefighters and police were present during the autopsy.

“This is a tragic, tragic thing,” Swader said.

Firefighters believe the man lived in Murfreesboro. They believe they have identified the man but are waiting for a confirmation from family members.

More information is expected Friday.
