One needs passion for a non-profit. Brian has the passion. Congratulations Brian.

Why is there a United Way article at least once a week in both murfreesboro papers?
United Way is a racket. They pay their execs tons of money and they extort "payroll deduction" donations from employees of large corporations. They use bully tactics on the employees, and they entice the employers with sweet prizes.
If you want to give to charity, give directly and cut out the middle man.

If you have ever dealt with Atmos as a customer, and tried to get them to correct their mistake, then you would never want any of their former employees working for you. I got my annual arm twisting yesterday from United Way. When I give its on my own terms and its direct.

Attagirl, you hit the nail on the head. I know a few people that actually had this happen to them at work.
Take some time to do some research. You might be surprised at how little of your money would actually go to those who need it. Then choose your own charity. We feel good about who our donations go to each year.... You should too.
