Mike Ford received the 2009 Outstanding Faculty Award at Tennessee Technology Center -Murfreesboro.
Ford is the surgical technology instructor at the center. He has been with the center for nine years. He started the program from the beginning and is on a constant road to improvement though the program receives high marks from industry members, advisory members, and students.
TTCM’s program, under the leadership of Mike Ford, has earned recognition as one of the top 20 Surgical Technology Programs in the nation. His program was chosen out of 460 programs in the US by the Association of Surgical Technologists three of the last eight years.
The Center also recognized Helen Brown as the 2009 Outstanding Staff Member and her 40-plus years of service to the institution. Currently, Brown assists with the Job Training and Safety Program for approximately 3,000-plus utility workers statewide as well as taking responsibility for financial aid for the institution.
Danny Hayes, JT&S coordinator, said, “Helen is a dedicated worker who makes the JT&S program run smoothly and efficiently.”
Chris Ayers, student services coordinator stated, “Helen Brown works tirelessly to ensure our students receive the state and federal assistance available. Her dedication to the students and this institution is commendable.”
