If you are checking your list twice, you know Christmas is just around the corner. As you search for the right gift, I want to urge you to look no further than Rutherford County. We have a great community to live and work in but also a greater community to shop in. It is important to shop local – shop Rutherford County.
Why is it important? To highlight a few reasons, Rutherford County receives 2.75 percent of the total sales tax collected on your purchases. This sales tax is used to provide police protection, fire protection, parks for your children, roads to drive upon, and schools for our children to attend and teachers to make learning fun.
Also, if each household were to spend just $100 or more in Rutherford County, it would grow to $8.1 million dollars in spending in the entire county. This spending would lead to an increase of 71 jobs. These jobs and spending would produce another $1.4 million dollars in personal income. Which will lead to more purchases and additional variety. You may feel this isn’t much but it really is. Shopping with your neighbors keep their jobs. It provides the money to assist in building roads and having law enforcement on duty to protect your property and family. Purchasing products locally assists in insuring our community will continue to grow so your doctor is close by and not in the next county.
It provides opportunities for our children to have safe recreation areas and books to learn from. It helps to provide quality buildings and quality teachers so students can receive an education to provide for their future.
It assists in providing funds for the ambulance when it is needed.
Look at the time you save by visiting our local retailers as well as the fuel you save when you don’t drive a great distance.
All of this and more results by simply making that next purchase in Rutherford County. It doesn’t matter if it is in Eagleville, Murfreesboro, Smyrna or La Vergne, as long as it is done locally.
Rutherford County is a thriving and growing community because residents, like you and me, are making our purchases here. Each of us can make a difference. SHOP LOCAL…IT MATTERS!!! |
