Lisa Schroeder and Michael Nigro join their musical talents, creating an experience of pure elegance and classical artistry in a concert next Tuesday night at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church on North Rutherford Blvd. The concert begins at 7 o’clock.

Their vision is to reach a non-classical audience, inspire the classical listener, and to touch just one life with a "noteworthy" performance. Their program will feature flute and guitar duos from prominent and less-known South American composers that range from folkloric dances to sophisticated impressionism.

“If listening to great flute music is what you are looking for, look no further than Lisa Schroeder,” said Steven Allen Fox, conductor of the Golden State Pops Orchestra in California.

The other half of the musical duo is equally talented. Nigro has released a new recording, “Guitar Sudamericana,” which he will highlight during his performances. His debut CD, “Homage to Piazzolla,” is released on the label, Music and Arts. He has given performances at many esteemed colleges, universities, libraries, and guitar societies.

Lisa Schroeder and Michael Nigro are both on the faculty at Vanguard University in Costa Mesa, California.
