Floyd "Nehi" Leonard, age 74, of Murfreesboro, went to be with his Lord and Savior Dec. 31, 2012.
A native of Murfreesboro, he was the son of the late Carl and Maudie Davis Leonard.
Mr. Leonard is survived by his wife of 56 years, Joyce Upchurch Leonard, daughter Debbie and her husband, Dan Goodwin, of Murfreesboro; four sons Randy and his wife, Claire Leonard, of Pelham, Ricky and his wife, Chrissy Leonard, of Murfreesboro, Mark and his wife, Jeanne Leonard, of Lascassas, Gary and his wife, Sonya Leonard, of Murfreesboro; 14 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; and two sisters Louise Tomberlain and Evelyn “Sophie” Tipton Haislip, both of Murfreesboro.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Eugene Leonard, and a sister Willa Dean Leonard.
Mr. Leonard was a member of East Main Street Church of Christ. He retired from Gibson Guitar as an inspector and was a musician all of his life. He was a 1956 graduate of Central High School.
Visitation will be 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013, at Woodfin Funeral Chapel.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 4, 2013, at Woodfin Funeral Chapel with Brother Wayne Lankford officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Former band members will serve as honorary pallbearers.
