Flash flood warning issued; possible snow Wednesday

The National Weather Service in Nashville has issued a flood watch for a portion of Middle Tennessee including Rutherford, Bedford, Cannon, Williamson and Wilson counties.

The watch is from late tonight through Tuesday evening with rainfall amounts of 2 to 4 inches will possible.

A flood watch means there is a potential for flooding based on current forecasts.

Residents should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible flood warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.

Today: Showers. The rain could be heavy at times. High near 49. West southwest wind around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%.

Tonight: Showers. Low around 39. West wind around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%.

Wednesday: Scattered rain showers before noon, then a chance of rain and snow showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 43. West wind between 5 and 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%. Little or no snow accumulation expected.

Wednesday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 30. West southwest wind between 5 and 15 mph.

Thursday: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 45. West northwest wind between 5 and 10 mph.

Thursday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 28. Northwest wind around 5 mph becoming calm.

Friday: Sunny, with a high near 50. South wind between 5 and 10 mph.

Friday Night: A 30 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 39. South southwest wind around 10 mph.

Saturday: A 30 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 48. West southwest wind 10 to 15 mph becoming north northwest. Winds could gust as high as 20 mph.

Saturday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 26.

Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 40.
