Mollie Murphree Lynch sits down with Bob Lamb, Richard Lewis, Sherry Galloway, Billie Jo Josovitz, Bryan Nale, and fellow Five Senses owner Mitchell Murphree to discuss plans for an up-coming wine dinner benefiting the Domestic Violence Center.
Two Murfreesboro businesses have partnered to hold a wine dinner benefiting the Domestic Violence Center and Sexual Assault Program of Rutherford County this Thursday.

Restaurant Five Senses and Exit Realty - Bob Lamb and Associates play host to the dinner Thursday, July 30 at Five Senses restaurant on Rutherford Boulevard.

“We have a wonderful evening planned to raise money and awareness for this great cause,” said Molli Murphree Lynch, co-owner of Five Senses.

The dinner will include a five-course dinner, pairing unique wines with each course, Lynch explained.

“The menu will highlight local farmers’ fruits and vegetables of the summer season such as the main three: grilled filet mignon with heirloom tomatoes, sautéed spinach, fired corn and blue cheese butter,” she continued.

According to the American Institute of Domestic Violence, 5.3 million women are abused every year and domestic violence is the leading cause of injury to women.

Domestic violence also creates burdens on business and productivity. Victims of domestic violence lose nearly 8 million paid workdays annually, which is equal to more than 32,000 full-time jobs.

“We are grateful to be in such a supporting community,” Domestic Violence Center Director Deborah Johnson said. “Unique opportunities to team up with a fine-dining restaurant and the civic minded people at Bob Lamb and Associates are advantageous to our fundraising and community efforts.”

The Domestic Violence Center and Sexual Assault Program of Rutherford County is committed to assisting victims through court advocacy, a 24-hour crisis line, temporary shelter, counseling and raising community awareness.

Seating is limited, but advance tickets can be purchased at 615-542-3219 and are $125.

Way to go for all parties involved. Stopping domestic violence is a more than worthy cause.
