As part of its commitment to education, FirstBank Mortgage Partners will be rolling out a new scholarship program open to qualifying customers in Tennessee, Alabama, Florida and Georgia.

Qualifying customers who receive a mortgage from FirstBank Mortgage Partners will automatically be enrolled in a random drawing for a $1,000 TNStars 529 Plan scholarship for a child.

There will be one annual drawing for each of FirstBank Mortgage Partners’ 100 mortgage bankers, representing a total commitment of $100,000in scholarship money. The first drawing will be held in February 2014.

In order to qualify for the drawing, customers must have received any mortgage from FirstBank Mortgage Partners between Jan. 1 and Dec. 31, 2013 and must have a  child, stepchild, adopted child or foster child living at home.

Those not selected will automatically be placed into a multistate pool from which one additional winner will be drawn for a $1,000 scholarship.

Scholarships will be named after the originating mortgage banker. For example, mortgage banker John Smith’s winning customer will receive the “John Smith Next Generation Scholarship.”

FirstBank Mortgage Partners is excited about establishing this to be an annual ongoing scholarship program.
