NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Bob Gerard has been named the new Rutherford County executive for the Tennessee affiliate of Fifth Third Bank, company officials announced Friday.
Gerard served as the membership advantage program director prior to his promotion, and he will continue to hold that post as well.
As county executive, Gerard will act as a community liaison for the bank and provide strategic leadership to the financial center teams that are present in the Rutherford County market.
Gerard, who is a 2005 graduate of the University of Phoenix, joined Fifth Third Bank in 2006 and has more than 11 years of experience in the financial industry.
Prior to working in the banking industry, he enjoyed an 18-year career as a sales manager for a Florida water treatment company.
In addition to his professional career, Gerard is the chairman of the board for the Tennessee Christian Chamber of Commerce, member of the boards of directors for the Murfreesboro Rotary Club and Community Helpers of Rutherford County, as well as a community impact chair for the United Way Community of Rutherford and Cannon Counties.
