Multiple indictments were filed against a family friend accused of having sexual relations with a 14-year-old girl during seven months last year, a Rutherford County Sheriff’s detective said Wednesday.
Defendant Russell Gene McDonald, 27, of New Zion Road near Christiana was indicted on six counts of aggravated statutory rape, one count of solicitation of a minor for especially aggravated sexual exploitation and one count of exploitation of a minor by electronic means, said investigating Detective Lisa Svitak.
The investigation uncovered McDonald allegedly had sexual relations with the girl from April through November, said Svitak who investigated the case for two months before presenting the case to the grand jury last week.
McDonald gave a statement to Svitak during an interview. She charged him on the sealed indictments.
He was booked into Rutherford County Adult Detention Center where he remains held in lieu of $150,000 bond.
He is scheduled to receive copies of the indictment Jan. 18 in Rutherford County Circuit Court. |
