The James E. Walker Library at MTSU is celebrating Banned Books Week, Sept. 24-Oct. 1, by positioning books that have been banned or challenged at some point in a cart in the library atrium. Banned Books Week is an annual event celebrating the freedom to read and the importance of the First Amendment to the United States Constitution.
Sponsored by the American Library Association and other organizations, it highlights the benefits of free and open access to information while drawing attention to the harm of censorship by spotlighting actual or attempted bans of books across the country.
