A former Riverdale High School student was indicted this week for allegedly having sexual contact with a 14-year-old girl on a school bus.
Brandon Stover, 18, of Odessa Drive was indicted on three counts of sexual battery, one count of attempted sexual battery and one count of assault.
The 14-year-old student accused the boy of fondling her when they rode the bus in February. A videotape on a Rutherford County school bus showed the boy sat next to her and she cried "no."
During a preliminary hearing in May, the girl testified Stover sat by her on the school bus. She wore a pair of jeans with a hole in the knee.
“He was rubbing his hands up and down my thighs,” the girl said.
She accused Stover of putting her head in a headlock and forcing her head into his lap, making comments he would take her home and “knock me up,” touching her breasts and placing her hand into the back of her pants and touching her genital area.
The girl told him to stop. She asked a friend to help because she was very uncomfortable. The friend “just laughed and didn’t do anything about it.”
The videotape shows her repeatedly saying, “stop” and moving away from Stover. Afterwards, he moves his hand around in the air.
Stover was originally charged with rape with his finger but the charge was dropped after the girl testified he did not penetrate her.
He remains free on bond. He is scheduled to receive a copy of the indictments Oct. 20 in Circuit Court.
