Ex-girlfriend accused of filing false reports, stalking
By LISA MARCHESONI
A former girlfriend charged with filing false assault reports against an ex-boyfriend was accused two days later of stalking him, Murfreesboro Police reported.
Lori Beth Yates, 26, of 1505 Factors Walk was charged last Thursday with filing three false reports accusing former boyfriend Brandon Ward of assaulting her, Detective Jennifer West reported.
West reported she interviewed Yates who told her Ward did not assault her.
"She stated that she did not know what to do and was mad at him because he would not come back over to the house," West reported.
Yates was booked into Rutherford County Adult Detention Center and released on $3,500 bond.
Officer Tamara Jensen reported Ward filed a report Tuesday stating Yates stalked him Saturday.
Ward accused Yates of calling his cellular telephone 15 times while he was at Buffalo Wild Wings Saturday. When he turned his telephone off, she called the restaurant manager and asked to speak to Ward.
"She then sent him cheesecake to the restaurant and said it was to 'remember her by,'" Jensen reported.
Jensen accompanied Ward to Yates' home where the ex-boyfriend told her to quit calling him. The officer advised Ward how to obtain arrest warrants against Yates.
