Also Martha Collier...it was absolutely HORRIBLE what was done to Martha's stone. Not sure why she is not on this list. The Collier stone next to her was toppled over as well. I volunteer in the Collier section for tours every October and I am disgusted by this. If this is not cleaned up by then, I will have to make some sort of a covering for poor Martha.

Vandalism should punished with a very severe internment at which time they should be taken out 6 days a week and made to repair , clean and maintain the same cemeteries that they damaged.

Once again, there was no mention of age in the article. It could have been some older people. I've seen this happen with men and women who are drunk and have no responsibility as to their actions. They seem to think it is funny at the time.

I go to this part of the cemetary a lot and take photos and videos. The graves are extraordinary and I got my first EVP there. There is a law that people cannot be in the cemetary after sundown. So, these vandals can also be charged with Criminal Trespassing as well. They need security at the cemetary. This is the second time I remember this happening. I Lets try this. Everyone that has a family member of lovd one in Evergreen...Try to donate just a little to the cemetary for clean up and video cams to place in the cemetary. This is a very important part of every murfreesboro citizens history! I know one thing. If my grandparents graves are ever disturbed, don't bother calling the police. I will hunt them down and do as accordingly!

I always tell my kids when we see graffiti or names carved in public places that these people are so underachieving and pathetic that they are basically admitting that defacing others' property is the only "fame" or attention they can ever hope to achieve. It is sickening and I feel very sorry for the families connected to these defaced gravestones. I agree with redbird. Make these idiots undo the damages they did plus any other graffiti in town.
