Eunice Inez (King) Givens, age 90 of Murfreesboro, passed away on February 7, 2010 at Middle Tennessee Medical Center. She was a native and lifelong resident of Rutherford County. She retired from Middle Tennessee Medical Center (Rutherford Hospital), was a waitress at City Café, Shoney’s, Al Sullivan’s Restaurant, a Homemaker and a member of Bradley’s Creek Baptist Church.
Mrs. Givens is preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Berbie King; husband Winnel B. Givens; one brother Carson King; and three sisters, Lucy Sloan, Joyce Florida and Mary Alice McKnight and Grandson Troy Winnel Givens. She is survived by her son Mike Givens and fiancé Lesa Driver of Winchester, TN; daughters Carolyn (Charles) McKnight of Rockvale, TN and Linda (Harmon) Koon of Bell Buckle, TN; sisters, Mary Drucilla King of Murfreesboro, TN, Erma Lannom of Lascassas, TN, and Oneida Higgins of Colorado and grandchildren, Angie (Bobby) Wesson, Colin (Jennifer) McAdoo, Shane (Susan) Hall, Bruce (April) Hall and Jason (Donna) Hall; ten great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, two step grandchildren, four step great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews as well as friends and faculty at Stones River Manor.
A chapel service for Mrs. Givens will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, February 10, 2010 at Jennings and Ayers Chapel with Brother Donald Owen and Rev. Charles McKnight officiating. Burial will follow at Milton Cemetery with Colin McAdoo, Shane Hall, Bruce Hall, Jason Hall, Chris Koon, Bobby Wesson, Blake Titshaw and Justin Wesson serving as pallbearers.
Visitation with the family will be from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Tuesday, February 9, 2010 at Jennings and Ayers Funeral Home; 820 South Church St. Murfreesboro, TN 37130. 615-893-2422 |
