Ethel Bailey Bunch, age 87, passed away Feb. 24, 2013 after a short illness.
Twice widowed, she was preceded in death by her first husband, William Earl Bailey (1965) and her second husband, Rev. Roy David Bunch (2009) and three children, Bailey (an infant), Deborah Sue Kliewer (Ronnie) and Bill Bailey (Brenda).
Four of her children, Linda Bailey Burch, Mary Janet Bailey, Susan Bunch Elliott (Terry) and Michael Charles Bailey (Carol) survive along with 18 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
Other than being a mother of seven, Ethel had various careers. She worked in the United States Treasury in Washington, D.C. during World War II, became a personnel manager for Cain Sloan Department store in Nashville, manager of the Munsingwear Outlet in Murfreesboro, a substitute teacher for Rutherford County Schools, and a pastor’s wife for several Baptist churches.
Ethel was also a published author of poetry and religious music, continuing to write until the last year of her life.
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 28, 2013 at Jennings and Ayers Chapel with Shane Blankenship and Warren Wrather officiating. Burial will follow at Middle Tennessee State Veteran’s Cemetery with grandsons serving as pallbearers.
