An estranged wife who shares a house with her husband found him and his girlfriend engaged in sex when she arrived home with their 8-year-old son late Saturday night on Cutoff Road, a sheriff’s deputy reported.

The husband and his girlfriend were having sex when his wife entered the bedroom, ripped off the covers and screamed, Deputy Matt Clagg reported.

“His girlfriend than ran out of the house as his wife chased her,” Clagg reported.

The girlfriend locked herself in the husband’s truck, the deputy reported. The husband reported his wife, with their son in the vehicle, rammed the truck three times before taking a picture of the girlfriend in the truck.

But the wife told Clagg she was crying hysterically, thought she put the car in reverse but instead put it in drive, striking her husband’s truck.

The girlfriend and husband accused the wife of assaulting them but showed no injuries. The wife showed Clagg marks on her feet and legs where she accused her husband of holding her down. She admitted breaking a kitchen chair and tearing down a curtain inside the house.

Since their separation, the husband and wife take turns staying at the house with their child. The wife told Clagg it was her week to have the house but conceded her husband didn’t expect her because she took their son to Atlanta.

No charges were placed. Detective Jim Tramel is investigating.

In another case, Michael Osbourne of West Jefferson Pike in Smyrna accused a man living with his mother on Hickory Grove Road of firing a weapon at him about noon last Thursday.

Osborne told Deputy Mellody Stephenson he saw the “muzzle blast” fired from the weapon. Later, he called his mother but the man answered the phone and threatened to kill him if he ever saw him again.

This stuff happens every day. Why in the world is it a headline?

I still remember when I moved to Oak Ridge Tn in 87. They had section of the paper where they reported the daily police reports. The very first one I read was pot being knocked over at such and such address. I thought if this makes the news then it must be a nice little town. It was then, just like here it has gone downhill since as far as crime goes.

Husbands and wives have been cheating on each other for centuries. It hasn't changed and it's not news.

Slow day in Murfreesboro apparently.

"The husband and his girlfriend were having sex when his wife entered the bedroom, ripped off the covers and screamed, Deputy Matt Clagg reported."

Why would his wife scream "Deputy Matt Clagg reported?" (drum fill!)

Made my day there!
Who cares who is doing who? Doesn't sound like there was much communication during the marriage, why would he tell her he was doing his GF during the separtation?

WOW! Really. Is there honestly nothing better going on in Rutherford County that its really necessary to inform everyone that a guy is sleeping with someone else on the week his wife has the house? Really? I feel bad for the child involved in this.

Yeah, I would MUCH rather read about more theft at the greenway, a fatal automobile accident and maybe a murder thrown in for good measure.

Some of you people must be such unhappy, miserable individuals to nitpick like this. Maybe it touched a nerve there?

The sarcastic point you're trying to make, HuskyLover, actually proves the point the rest of us are trying to make .... with all the other crime (theft on the greenway, murder) going on in this town, how in the world is it news that some guy is cheating on his wife?

This story should never have been printed.

Ok it's a catchy title, and it made you all look. But its not about an affair. It's about domestic violence. The only one I truly feel sorry for, is the little boy. Not only did this child witness his parents fighting so badly, but he was put in harm's way. Those two need to grow up... and quite obviously their nesting arrangement, taking turns sharing the house isn't working. Time for these two to get separate residences and the boy to alternate homes, before the state comes in and takes the kid away from both of them. Stupid parents.
