Estelle Compton, age 87, passed away January 30, 2014. She was a native of Cannon County but lived most of her life in Rutherford County. Estelle was a loving wife, devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a faithful follower of Jesus and ended her day reading her bible and in prayer. She was a good friend to all that knew her. She was a member of Sharpesville Church of Christ.
Estelle was preceded in death by her parents, Bob and Evelyn Murphy; first husband, Rufus Nile Bogle; brothers, James Paul Murphy and Bob Roy Murphy. She is survived by her husband, Cantrell Compton; daughter, Ann (Harold) Leffler; son, James Nile (Jean) Bogle, stepdaughters, Sheila Schulties and Sharon Gannon; sister, Aldean Sneed; four grandchildren, Jennifer Bogle, Shane Shepard, Josh Shepard and Christopher Boynton; four step grandchildren; three great-grandchildren, Zach Maino, Molly Maino and Andrew Shepard; seven step great-grandchildren; two step great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Chapel service will be Monday, February 3, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Jennings and Ayers. David Young and James Lively will officiate with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens with friends and family serving as pallbearers.
