Ernest Lee “Bug” Writtenberry Jr., age 69, of Rockvale, passed away on October 26, 2012 at Baptist Hospital.

He was a native of Sparta, TN but currently resided in Rutherford County. Ernest was a truck driver and served in the United States Army.

Ernest was preceded in death by his parents; Ernest Lee Writtenberry, Sr. and Irene Flatt Whittaker; daughter, Linda Writtenberry; brother, Tommy Writtenberry; and sister, Linda Bumbalough. He is survived by his wife, Kathy Caldwell Writtenberry of Rockvale; son, Stephen Writtenberry of Rockvale; daughters, Sandy Phillips of Cookeville and Krystal Barrett of Chipley, Florida; brothers, Don Rittenberry of Louisiana, Cliff Writtenberry of Murfreesboro and Frankie Writtenberry of Murfreesboro; sisters, Reba Young of Sparta, TN and Pat Crawford of Murfreesboro; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Chapel service will be held at Jennings and Ayers Chapel on Monday, October 29, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Charles Ray officiating. Burial will follow at Old Zion Cemetery in Sparta, TN with a Graveside Service at 3:00 p.m. with family and friends serving as active pallbearers.
