Erin Edgemon: Seasonal calendar stores on their way; Chamber women's conference set

ERIN EDGEMON, Business Editor

The end of 2008 is nearing, which means seasonal calendar stores are slated to open soon.

Calendar Club at Stones River Mall near center court was expected to open this weekend, said owner Keith Bryant, while Calendar Club & Go! Games will open at The Avenue Murfreesboro in suite 1770, between Stride Rite shoes and Leslie’s Shoppe, Oct. 31.

Bryant said Calendar Club “offers the best calendar selection in the whole known universe.”

The online location offers more than 6,000 calendar selections.

The Avenue location will carry as many as 3,000 calendars ranging from music artists and painters to travel destinations, comedy themes and calendars for almost every type of dog, he said.

“People buy dog calendars like crazy,” Bryant said.

Go! Games features popular board games, card games and mind bogglers.

Both Calendar Club locations, which offer weekly specials, will remain open until mid-January.

This is the second year that Bryant and his wife, Carole, has operated the Calendar Club store at The Avenue; it is their first year running the operation at Stones River Mall.

“We stumbled across it last year, literally,” he said. “I was unemployed at the time and found a posting on Craig’s List.”
