A Family Video store is scheduled to open in Murfreesboro in early 2009.

Construction is slated to begin soon on a 6,000-square-foot store at the corner of North Tennessee Boulevard and East Northfield Boulevard, said Kyle Duane, regional manager of Family Video.

The national video rental chain decided to open a location in Murfreesboro for “the community itself,” he said.

“The city is one of the premiere cities in the entire state of Tennessee, and we aim to bring the best video rental chain in the entire country to such a great city,” Duane said.

Family Video is expected to hire between 15 and 20 employees. Applications or resumes will be taken in the store or online at www.familyvideo.com.

Once open, the store’s hours of operation will be 10 a.m. to midnight, seven days a week.

New Family Video members will receive unlimited half price rentals for the first 30 days.

Each Family Video location offers 100s of free movie rentals to children with no restrictions. Thousands of movies rent two for $1 for five nights.

Springfield, Ill.-based Family Video stared with one store in 1978 and now has 565 stores in 18 states. The chain employs more than 6,000 people.

Family Video is the third largest movie and game rental chain in the country and the largest privately owned.

Currently, Family Video has one location in Tennessee in Union City but also has a location planned for Lebanon.

Which Wich Superior Sandwiches will open Sept. 12 next door to Barnes & Noble Booksellers at The Avenue lifestyle mall.

Hours of operation will be Monday-Saturday 10 a.m.-9 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m.-9 p.m.

Jeff Sinelli founded the fast-casual sandwich shop in 2003 in Dallas, Texas. Franchising began two years later. The chain now has more than 50 units in 11 states, and 100 are estimated to open before the end of the year.

Which Wich features more than 50 varieties of customizable, toasted “wiches” served in an edgy yet inviting environment, according to the company.

The concept is known for its creative ordering system. At Which Wich, customers place their orders by using custom red Sharpies to mark up pre-printed menus on sandwich bags. The customer selects the variety of sandwich from 10 different categories divided up by protein, then the customer checks the type of bread, cheese and additional ingredients, and finally marks off their desired spreads and sauces.

This system guarantees that despite the endless options available, all “wiches” are customized to just the way the customer wants them, and then are delivered to the customer in the personalized sandwich bag, according to Which Wich?

Customers also enjoy hand-dipped shakes, chips and just-out-of-the-oven cookies. All Which Wich locations feature music from Aware Records, newspaper reading stations and Wi-Fi Internet access.

uh yeah, I wonder if this city zoned this store to carry full-on porn. That's right folks. Unmitigated, XXX, video in their back room. For rent and sale. I know the area that this store is being built in. It's a "family" neighborhood with large churches nearby. Can't wait to see the community reaction as "Family" Video opens.

Murfreesboro city officials, did you investigate this company before you decided to bring them into town or did the name "Family" sway you ?

I used to live in Indiana. They have them there. Porn room by the restroom. Good move Murfreesboro. Hee-hee !!!

They are one of the best video rental stores in the country. IN PORN !!!

Have fun with this !!
