Emma Ree Gunter Sullivan, 88, died Jan. 25, 2014 at Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital in Murfreesboro.

She was a native of Giles County but lived most of her life in Rutherford County. She was a secretary at the Alvin C York Veterans Hospital. She was a member of Powells Chapel Baptist Church.

Emma Ree was preceded in death by her husband, James “Jim” Sullivan, parents; Lacy and Esther Gunter and sisters; Lessie Gray Russell and Ellen Florine Baskin. She is survived by her nieces and nephews; Larry (Carolyn) Payne, Karen (Doug) Rhodes, James “Bunny” Baskin and Phillip (Judy) Russell and several nieces and nephews on her husbands side.

A service for Emma Ree will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 28, in Jennings and Ayers Chapel at 1 p.m. with Rev. Mike Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens with friends and Deacons of the Powells Chapel Baptist Church will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation with the family will be from 11 a.m. until service time on Tuesday, Jan. 28, at Jennings and Ayers Funeral Home; 820 South Church St Murfreesboro, TN 37130. 615-893-2422
