Elizabeth Chumney Vance, age 86, of Murfreesboro, died Sunday at her daughter’s home in Hermitage.

She was a native of Rutherford County and the daughter of the late J.C. and Ada Chumney. She was also preceded in death by her brother, J.T. Chumney.

Mrs. Vance was a member of the Science Hill Church of Christ and a lady of many talents. She owned the Flowers by Elizabeth Flower Shop, was a talented seamstress and later retired as a guard from the Tennessee State Prison in Nashville.

Survivors include three daughters, Betty Lamb of Hermitage, Lynn (Lynn) Insell of Readyville and Sandy Davis of Kannapolis, NC; grandchildren Brian Lamb of Hermitage, LaDonna Lamb of Antioch, Jamie (David) Anderson of Murfreesboro, Clint (Macie) Medlock and Caitlyn Davis both of Charlotte, NC; six great grandchildren and a host of loving family and friends.

The family will receive friends Friday night from 4:00 until the time of memorial services beginning at 6:00 pm in the Woodfin Memorial Chapel with Ben Cates and Ricky Duke officiating. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.woodfinchapel.com Woodfin Funeral Chapel 893-5151
