Early voting started for Cobb's seat

Rutherford County voters in the 62nd House District can vote early for the Oct. 13 special election starting today.

Republican businessman Pat Marsh, Democrat Ty Cobb Jr. and the independent Chris Brown are fighting for the seat vacated by State Rep. Curt Cobb (D-Shelbyville).

Early Voting will be held from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday, Sept 23-Oct. 8 and from 8 a.m.-noon Saturday, Oct. 3 at the Rutherford County Election Commission office, No. 1 Public Square South Suite 103.

Extended hours will held from 8 a.m. -7 p.m. Monday, Sept 28, Thursday, Oct. 1 and Monday, Oct. 5.

The election only affects the following precincts: Blackman United Methodist Church, Eagleville Community Center and Rockvale Community Center.
