If you don’t have time to make it to the polls on Aug. 7 primary and local election, there’s still time to cast a ballot early.
Early voting runs through Saturday, Aug. 2.
Early ballots can be cast from 10 a.m.- 7 p.m. Monday-Friday and 8 a.m.-noon Saturdays at the Rutherford County Election Commission offices on Vine Street and the Public Square, SportsCom, Tennessee Rehabilitation Center or Rutherford County Agriculture Center in Old Fort Park.

Several local seats and state party nominations are up for grabs.
The county election features contested races for superintendent of roads and property assessor while state senate and representatives races feature at least one contested party primary for every seat in the election.
Incumbent Road Superintendent Mike Williams runs against Allen “Buddy” Gambill Jr.
Incumbent John Barbee runs against Bill D. Boner of Cripple Creek Farms for the Rutherford County Assessor of Property job.
Members of the county road board and Board of Education will also be chosen.
In perhaps the most contested race, both two Democrats and three Republicans will see who represents their parties for John Hood’s vacated 48th district State House seat.
Rick Parks faces off against Tim Tipps for the Democratic nomimation. While Joe Carr, Jon Jaques and Lou Ann Zelenik battle for the Republican nod.
In the other state races, Democrats Dee Butler and Jean Ann Rogers face off for voters to decide who will challenge Sen. Jim Tracy for the 16th district State Senate Seat.
Rep. Donna Rowland’s Democratic challenger will also be chosen from Jerome Perkins and Rishi Saxena for the 34th district State House of Representatives seat.
