Eagleville School students were evacuated after a gas smell in the cafeteria Monday morning, the county schools’ spokesman said.

Cafeteria workers noticed the smell about 7:25 a.m. and school workers contacted emergency workers and the gas company to check out the odor, said Rutherford County Schools’ spokesman James Evans.

Parents said the children were sitting on the bleachers while waiting for a return to the kindergarten through 12th grade school.
