A Smyrna woman is facing multiple charges after she reportedly left the scene of a single car traffic accident Sunday on N.W. Broad Street.

Tammy L. Lane, 48, has been charged with a DUI 1st offense, driving on a suspended license, and leaving the scene of a personal injury crash. At the time of the incident, Lane had an outstanding warrant for an unrelated forgery charge, according to a Murfreesboro Police Department arrest report filed by Jacob Lamb.

According to the report, Lane was driving a vehicle owned by another woman, who was in the car at the time of the accident, when she hit the side of a building, before fleeing the scene. However, deputies from the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office soon located Lane on Wade Herrod Road in Smyrna, at which point Lamb then went to that location.

“The vehicle was registered to the passenger, (who) was transported to Stone Crest by Rutherford County Emergency Medical Services,” Lamb reported.

Lane “admitted to drinking alcohol” prior to the crash, Lamb reported, adding she was unable to complete field sobriety tests, and therefore, she was taken into custody.

Lane was held on a $12,500 bond at the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center. She is scheduled to appear Feb. 12 in General Sessions Court for a preliminary hearing.
